I was walking around the lower loch raven dam when I saw a hawk high up in the tree scrutinizing something below. I took a couple shots and waited, hoping it would fly off towards me.
It did eventually take off, but straight down to the ground, so I walked across the road to check it out. I immediately came across a couple brazen squirrels just feet away. Forgetting about the hawk when the squirrels just sat there mocking me, I tried to get a closeup squirrel shot.
That’s when I saw the hawk again. He didn’t pay any attention to me, and at one point flew straight at me and landed too close for my camera to focus! I walked around with it flying about for around an hour or so until I got tired haha! I never saw a hawk so committed as it chased the squirrels (there were two I noticed) up and down the trees. It was funny, seeing the hawk on one side of the tree with the squirrel directly on the other side, seemingly toying with the hawk.
