I went around to the other side of Warren Road Bridge Cove this time hoping to crawl in some mud and get close for some sandpiper pics. Immediately upon arriving I saw a Yellowlegs. I sat there along the edge of the woods waiting for the sandpiper to ignore me and go about its business. After a couple minutes I climbed down the bank, crouched down, and slowly approached. Once I got closer to the edge of the water I lied on my stomach in sniper formation and inched up even more.
Long story short, it flew off after I managed a couple pics (albeit never getting close enough – all the images below are pretty big crops). I laid there for about 15 minutes hoping something would land in front of me (not) … I must of looked funny to the two people I saw go by in a canoe! I eventually got up and stumbled upon some Kildeer, a Kingfisher, and some more sandpipers …
