I used my tripod splayed out with my camera about two feet above the ground with the display screen deployed so I could look down and see the framing of the image (no more lying on my belly haha). I can’t really see what’s going on, I’m just relying on the autofocus bird detection to work (it was hard confirming if/when the sandpiper’s eye had a ‘yellow box’ around it).
It wasn’t until later when I viewed the images on the computer did I realize that mr. sandpiper had found a grub! But alas, they were all crap because of some vegetation – see my ‘missed shots’ video below :-(
On the bright side, I did manage to get some clear shots :-)
