Hoping to get some duck pics, I broke a trail through the crunchy snow to get to the middle of Loch Raven where it wasn’t frozen over. Once out there, all I saw were coots hanging out along the edge of the frozen water. The light was tricky and they eventually swam away anyway, so no good pics.
While waiting for something exciting to happen, I heard a Hawk in the distance. So, I decided to trudge thru the woods to get to the cove over yonder to see if I could find Mr. Hawk. Long story short, I found not one, but two Hawks!
The first one startled me when it flew up from the ground about 30 feet away – it was snacking on a freshly caught Coot.
I got a few good pics then decided to leave the Hawk alone so he could go back to enjoying his Coot dinner. Then I ran into Hawk No. 2 …
