There are what seems like hundreds of American Robins flying around the neighborhood and in my backyard! Of course I had to grab my camera with the 800mm lens and a 1.4x teleconverter to get in closer – too close sometimes :-)
Like I said, they were everywhere. I decided to single one out higher up in the trees to get the blue sky background in it. I kneeled down so I can rest the lens on the windowsill and picked this guy …
As luck would have it, the next thing I know mr. robin takes off and flies directly at me! Here are the images from the sequence, including ones I missed at the end. Note it’s hard tracking birds with the lens resting on something (which may have been a good thing).
All pics are full-frame with no cropping, except a 100% full size crop of one of the sharper images :-)
The next shots were all misses, grrr …
