Hoping to get some duck pics, I broke a trail through the crunchy snow to get to the middle of Loch Raven where it wasn’t frozen over. Once out there, all I saw were coots hanging out along the edge of the frozen water. The light was tricky and they eventually swam away anyway, so no good pics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While waiting for something exciting to happen, I heard a Hawk in the distance. So, I decided to trudge thru the woods to get to the cove over yonder to see if I could find Mr. Hawk. Long story short, I found not one, but two Hawks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first one startled me when it flew up from the ground about 30 feet away – it was snacking on a freshly caught Coot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I got a few good pics then decided to leave the Hawk alone so he could go back to enjoying his Coot dinner.\u00a0 Then I ran into Hawk No. 2 …<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/chapspics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/140216_MAS5873.jpg\")
